ISEB Foundation Course Presenters

Fran O'Hara is the Principal Consultant of Insight Consulting Ltd.
Fran's experience spans over 20 years, working with Philips Research Laboratories (Netherlands), Telectronics Pacing Systems (Australia) and Q-SET (Ireland).

In 1996, he formed his own company, Insight Consulting Ltd, providing Software and Test Process Improvement Services. At Telectronics, Fran managed the Implant Software Department, responsible for the design, development and test of real-time embedded safety-critical software for cardiac defibrillators in an ISO-9001/CMM level 3-equivalent environment.

Fran is a regular speaker at seminars and international conferences (including 'EuroSTAR', 'Test Congress' the 'European SEPG', and 'ICSE'). He is a trained TickIT auditor, a Certified STEP testing methodology trainer and a trained SEI CMM lead assessor.

Mike Russell - Principal Associate of Insight Consulting Ltd
Mike Russell (B.E., M.Sc. in Computer Science) has over 16 years experience in the software industry, working for companies such as Digital, Motorola and Puritan Bennett. His expertise covers methods and techniques for both development testing and independent system level testing and includes significant hands-on experience of test management, test specification/implementation and tools. He had designed and delivered numerous test-related training courses for organisations and performed numerous in-project assigments including the introduction of structured testing methodologies for V-model and OO development lifecycles.

Level and Orientation of Audience

The intended audience includes quality analysts, testers, developers, systems analysts, project leaders, users and data administrators.

No specific prerequisites are assumed. Attendees are expected to be 'software knowledgeable' with at least minimal test of software experience.

On the afternoon of day three, you will take the one-hour, multiple-choice examination for the ISTQB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing, invigilated by an ISEB examiner.
