We provide
a comprehensive set of training workshops covering key aspects of software
quality and software process improvement. Our focus is in-house training, customised to
meet your specific needs.
Insight's Training Implementation Approach
Insight Consulting understand that participants who come on a training
workshop want not only to learn about the subject matter but how to
implement good practices as soon as possible. We have found that a standard
workshop is not enough to facilitate this!
Insight Consulting therefore propose the following:
- Visit/communicate
with the company to understand the local requirements for the specific
area and to agree a tailored workshop content. This will maximise
the chances of a successful improvement programme by providing focused
training.
- Design
a questionnaire to be completed by each participant before attending
the workshop. This is to gather individual background and issues relating
to area which require attention.
- Give
the organisation guidelines on selecting projects for the workshop
exercises. The workshop approach draws heavily from the 'learning
by doing' principle. Therefore, the participants will apply the principles
and practices to their own projects during the workshop. The benefits
for the participants of this approach compared to using a fabricated
case study include:
 They
actually apply the approach before leaving the class room environment
and can see the practical problems and solutions They have their projects
somewhat started before they leave the class
They see the approach as
it applies to them and not to some mythical company/project
They are more active during
the workshop which stimulates learning
- Develop
a tailored training workshop to meet the organisation's specific requirements
- Deliver
the workshop in a very participative workshop style (explained above)
- Leave
each individual with a personal Action Plan
- Provide
phone, e-mail and fax support for 3 months as required
- Visit
the site by arrangement, 3 months after the original workshop to run
a Free half-day consultancy session
which will:
Review progress on the
action plans
Re-present difficult material
and cover some new material
Renew the enthusiasm for
the area of improvement
Review the effectiveness
of the approach with the training department
Seek feedback on the overall
approach
